Cast : Rituparno Ghosh, Jishu Sengupta, Raima Sen, Dipankar Dey, Anjan Dutt, Koushik Bandyopadhyay

Rituparno Ghosh in his movie excellently brought out the emotions and longings of person Rudra, who wants to change himself to a complete woman, breaking the social ethics. Rudra went against his father’s decision of becoming an engineer. He wanted to be a choreographer. In this struggle he met Partho (a percussionist addicted to drugs). Both were drawn towards each other and thought not only they were sexually bonded but also their problems meet somewhere down the corner. Their love, though satirized and critiqued by the people, was sufficient and pure for them. They wanted to adopt a child but belonging to the same sex category couple, their wish was turned down. Rudra finally came to a conclusion of transforming his gender. This would satisfy all his inner aspirations. The movie brings up those men who desire to be a woman. It says that this is not a defect but a dream of a person which should be respected and accepted.
