Movie Synopsis- A very celebrated movie of the 1960s depicts, the life of a man hailing from Portugal. He had an immense passion for Bengali music and poems. But he was continually critiqued for his interference in the society of Bengal. The story took an ugly turn when he married Nirupama. The contemporaries including the priests were very orthodox. They became furious and burnt down their house. Nirupama died in this mishap while worshipping Goddess Durga.
